Hearing Tests
in Scottsdale, AZ

A hearing test is the first step toward better hearing. We offer diagnostic hearing tests for adults of all ages. The hearing exam will give you all the information you need to make informed decisions about your hearing health.

During the hearing test you will sit in a soundproof booth with a pair of headphones on. You will listen for a series of sounds that range in volume, frequency, and pitch. The purpose of the hearing test is to assess your ability to hear certain sounds as well as how well you can distinguish speech in noise. We use a range of advanced testing procedures, including:

The results of your hearing test will be recorded on an audiogram, which our audiologist will go over with you in detail so you can understand where your hearing is at and what your best path forward is.

Hearing Aid Fittings

Hearing aids are not one size fits all. Choosing the right hearing aid is a balance of knowledge and personal preference. We will take the results of your hearing test to determine what kind of hearing aid will be best for you. We also consider personal factors, such as your lifestyle, listening needs, activity level, and comfort preferences. Once we have determined which hearing aid will be a good fit for your unique needs, then our hearing specialist will expertly program and fit the aids to you. Hearing aids should fit comfortably yet securely in/around your ear. They should also be programmed to your exact hearing prescription.

Real Ear Measurement

When fitting hearing aids, our team uses real ear measurement to make sure your devices are at their best. Real ear measurement is a method used to verify that your hearing aids are programmed correctly to your ear anatomy and hearing loss. Using real ear measurement, the process involves:

Although hearing aids are incredibly durable, they do require regular maintenance and cleanings to remain functioning properly. From minor adjustments to more complex repairs, we are here to help you.

Functional Gain Testing

Functional gain testing assess how much your hearing aids improve your hearing ability in different listening environments. This valuable information helps us optimize your hearing aid settings so they can help you hear at your best.

Veteran Evaluation Services (VES) is part of a system designed to support veterans in accessing healthcare evaluations required for managing their health and benefits. When it comes to hearing health, VES helps veterans identify hearing loss or auditory disorders that may have been caused or aggravated by military service. Aspire Audiology & Hearing Center is proud to collaborate with VES, offering a specialized approach to hearing diagnostics and treatment that addresses the specific concerns of veterans.

Tinnitus Management

Tinnitus is described as hearing a buzzing, humming, or ringing in the ears when no external sound is present. Tinnitus can range from mildly annoying to debilitating depending on the severity. If you have persistent tinnitus that is affecting your quality of life, we can help.

We will work closely with you to develop strategies to minimize the impact of tinnitus on your daily life. In some cases, hearing aids with a tinnitus masking feature can greatly help. Although hearing aids won’t stop ringing in the ears completely, they can help you experience relief. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.

Earwax Removal

Earwax, medically known as cerumen, is necessary for healthy ears. However, sometimes wax can build-up inside the ear canal, causing itchiness, discomfort, a clogged feeling, and muffled hearing. As a full-service hearing center, we can gently and safely remove excessive earwax so you can hear clearly again.
